This project investigated the ways in which different kinds of visual representation are used in professional collaborative situations, drawing on previous work formalising the Cognitive Dimensions of Notations. The project built on Martin Eppler's development of collaborative visualisation tools, and included interviews with a range of specialist consultants to understand collaboration work practices.
The final output was a design guide for practitioners who need to select or develop visual representations for use in collaborative contexts:
