Originally founded as Aidworld, a spin-out from ShelterProject in the Cambridge Department of Architecture, Aptivate is a non-profit organisation dedicated to creating ICT systems for development contexts. Aptivate is one of the organisations based in the Cambridge Humanitarian Centre

Aptivate were the initiators of the Bridging the Global Digital Divides programme funded by EPSRC.
