A major component of the Crucible programme is to reach out to wider audiences of researchers, policymakers, businesses and members of the public. This is achieved via conferences, exhibitions, festivals, public debates, colloquia and seminars. Some result in academic publications, but the primary objective is simply to promote awareness of interdisciplinary design as a high priority for future research.
