Alejandro Viñao has spent two periods in Cambridge as an artist in residence, one funded by the ACE/AHRC working with Ian Cross in the Centre for Music and Science, and one funded by the Leverhulme Trust, working with Alan Blackwell in the Computer Laboratory.

In both of these he explored Digital editing techniques for electroacoustic composition, and in the second, had a specific research interest in interaction with musical polytempi.
