This group collected digital music researchers from a range of institutional affiliations, for career development and preparation of research proposals. The group pre-dated the establishment of Crucible, and provided a model for a number of Crucible working practices. In particular, although several of the members were actively involved in music research, the group intentionally met in "neutral premises" outside of any University department.
