Nancy Fried Foster is a design anthropologist, specialising in participatory design for academic contexts. She is based at the University of Rochester, where she contributes to the design of information systems and building architecture.

She provided an introduction to user-centred and participatory design practices for an invited discussion preparing findings from the Crucible Groups in academia project.
