Rachel is a Creative Producer and Freelance Arts Consultant based in Cambridge. She is currently working with arts leaders, HEIs and technology companies, on a proposal to enhance collaboration between Cambridge's internationally renowned technology innovation hub and the arts. It could see Cambridge develop a USP for publicly engaged creative experimentation with artists and companies coming into the city from across the UK and beyond to collaborate with local cultural partners and technology companies to develop new skills, practices and ideas, working in close contact with the public.

From January to July 2013, Rachel was Arts Policy Researcher in residence at the University of Cambridge Computer Laboratory. During this time, as well as undertaking the research for the above proposal, she attracted £10,000 of investment for a project that is underway with Wysing Arts Centre where five artists with differing experiences of coding are experimenting with producing new work with the Raspberry Pi. She is also working with a larger group of partners on a more significant project to use the Raspberry Pi in schools as a new musical instrument. Rachel previously worked as a Senior Manager at Arts Council England where, amongst other things, she worked on major investment partnerships with regional development agencies, local authorities and other partners that were designed to catalyse the cultural offer in places by building on indigenous strengths.
