This project was funded by AHRC in cooperation with the Arts Council of England, and developed as a continuation of one of the New Technology Arts Fellowships.

The goal of this project was to research and develop new reactive materials based on liquid crystal elastomers for application in interactive objects and, ultimately, architectural environments, collaborating with research scientists in relevant fields including physics, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering and computing. The whole was contextualised through an existing programme of social science research investigating creativity and the role of interdisciplinary collaboration in society.
