What does it mean to be a computer 'virtuoso'? By studying expert musicians who use computers, in collaboration with the Centre for Music and Science, we can develop new understanding of human experiences with technology. This PhD research project by Chris Nash has involved the development and deployment of a music synthesis tracker plugin, which has been instrumented to collect data on the experiences of the musicians and composers who used it over a period of 2 years.
