This article may be relevant if you see the following error message from the Talks.cam website:
Application error (Apache) Change this error message for exceptions thrown outside of an action (like in Dispatcher setups or broken Ruby code) in public/500.html
Please note this error is subtly different from the "Rails application failed to start properly" error - please refer to Error - Rails application failed to start properly for advice on that error.
What were you doing when the error occurred?
- If you were trying to Create or Edit a Talk when you saw the above error message, then please check whether you have entered a "Speaker's name and affiliation" which is longer than 75 characters. If so, please try again with a shorter entry which is no more than 75 characters.
- Otherwise, please contact us for further advice.
