This topic pertains to emails from Talks.cam with a Subject line starting "[Talks.cam] Today's talks:" and/or "[Talks.cam] This week's talks:".

In order to stop these emails, you will need to do the following:

  • Go to http://talks.cam.ac.uk
  • If you are not already logged in to Talks.cam, please log-in: choose one of the two links on the left-hand side of the Talks.cam homepage under "Log in" (make sure you're logging into Talks.cam and not this help site!)
  • Then go to http://talks.cam.ac.uk/reminder
  • At the top of the page you should see An e-mail is sent to [your email address] about each of the following lists:
  • Make sure that the email address quoted is exactly the right email address that Talks.cam used (check the "To:" line in your email client) - for instance, if you redirect crsid@cam.ac.uk to crsid@hermes.cam.ac.uk , you could be subscribed using either address - but you will not be able to unsubscribe successfully unless you make sure the right email address appears on that page
  • If the wrong email address appears, then you will need to Log Out and then Log In to the Talks.cam account that corresponds to the right email address (more on this below)
  • There should be a list of Talks.cam Lists on that page, and next to each one, a link: [Stop further emails]
    • Click "Stop further emails" for each of the Lists that you no longer want reminders about
  • If there is nothing listed, then you have probably got the wrong email address and will need to log in with a different account:

Hints for getting the right login:

  • If you are a member of Cambridge University and have a Raven account, then try the "Cambridge users (raven)" link first
    • Usually a Raven account will be associated with the email address crsid@cam.ac.uk (NOT @hermes.cam.ac.uk or @department.cam.ac.uk etc), but this is not always the case
  • Else go to the "Other Users" link and use the exact email address that your Talks.cam reminder was sent To:
    • If you cannot remember the password for that email address, click "Lost your password?" on that page
