Site Travel Plan Group

3rd March 2017 meeting notes

Written by Grainne Kennedy, Environmental Coordinator, University of Cambridge Greenwich House:

  • Our Travel Manager is meeting with Whippet this week and we will hopefully have some promotion of the bus route for journeys throughout the day.
  • The issue of cycle safety at the bend where the Coton path and Adams Road is being looked at by Facilities Management, I will report back.
  • The speed barriers on West Cambridge will not be removed but we will look at signage as cyclists should get off their bike to go through these.
  • We can organise Cycle Safety training on site, if you can let me know when is the best time for this I would appreciate it. I would like to do this in April.
  • We will arrange two Dr. Bike sessions in April, again if you let me know when the best times for this that would be appreciated. 24 bikes can checked per day.
  • I'd like to hold a travel breakfast in either late April or early May where we can provide food and introduce all staff to the services that they can benefit from such as Liftshare, Universal, bike security marking and bike maintenance.
  • A bike maintenance station will be installed in West Cambridge and we will do some bike repair workshops that staff can participate in when it goes in.
  • A central pool bike system is being looked at by facilities for the site.
  • I also intend to some travel planning analysis on data we have from our site and insights you have into how your colleagues travel would really be appreciated.
