Susan has been at the forefront of science and technology journalism for nearly two decades, on the BBC's Newsnight programme, helping to shape some of the most important national and international debates in science, technology, engineering, medicine and health. She has explored their many ramifications - political, social and economic - through compelling and engaging television, radio and digital content, in news and documentaries.

An experienced journalist, writer and broadcaster, Susan is working with the University of Cambridge Emerging Leaders’ Development Programme and Post Doc Society on “Straight Talking” workshops that show the power of direct communication. She is keen to explore new ways to prompt cross-discipline collaboration between researchers, through participative masterclasses, workshops, debates and other forums.

With contacts throughout industry, government and academia, Susan is in touch with the latest research and development, and maintains a keen knowledge of the interplay between STEM subjects and public policy-making.
