You may have seen bars in Cambridge that have robot greeeters at the door. The Cambridge Festival is getting behind! Your task is to create a more sophisticated ambassador for science, that can be used in the festival and open days, engaging visitors in the joys of computer science. You'll be using a humanoid robot from the AFAR lab as a starting point.
Imagine a virtual science ambassador at the Cambridge Festival and department open days that engages visitors in lively discussions about science and their experiences. This project will develop an embodied virtual agent based on the new LEXI framework for speech-based interaction. The system should allow customisation, so that users of all technical abilities can create and deploy their own AI agents able to interact naturally in spoken conversation in a variety of social settings. In the setting of the Cambridge Festival, the agent would be able to gather feedback, as well as enhancing visitor engagement.
