The normal procedure for granting edit access to Talks and Lists on Talks.cam is as follows:

  • Any user who currently has edit access can grant edit access rights to any other user
  • The user who created the Talk or List automatically has edit access initially
  • Any user who currently has edit access can also revoke edit access rights

To find out who currently has edit access to a Talk or List, go to the Talk or List page itself, and simply locate the following text:

"If you have a question about this list, please contact: OrganiserName"

Each OrganiserName is linked to a user profile page that contains their email address (you need to be logged in to view it).

If you need edit access, please contact the existing Organisers first and ask them to grant you access. They may find this help page useful.

ONLY IF NONE of the existing Organisers are contactable (e.g. they have ALL left the University, or are on an extended period of leave, etc), then the Talks.cam Support team can intervene:

  • To help them, please ENSURE that you include a LINK to the List you need access to e.g. https://talks.cam.ac.uk/show/index/1234 , NOT just the Title
  • Explain that you have tried contacting ALL the existing Organisers but that none are available
  • Bear in mind that the Talks.cam Support team may take a number of days to reply - they are not normally able to respond to urgent queries
  • You can find their contact details here.
