Service Desk Call Handling Procedure

  • Customers can be passed to the UFS Helpdesk by forwarding the phone call/email. RT tickets should then have the Status set to Resolved. Tell the requestor:
    I am passing this request over to the UFS Helpdesk.

At the risk of spamming you, for which I apologise, this is a reminder that the upgrade to CUFS scheduled for Easter will require a minimum JRE of 1.7_21. CUFS Downtime Easter 2014: From 12 noon Tues 15th April to Weds 23rd April <http://ufs.admin.cam.ac.uk/news/bulletin510.html#bull1>. Approximately 12% of recent (last week) connections were below 1.7_21. Please let me know (off list) if you would like me review the log file for workstations in your individual domains.

Please be aware that the minimum version of java client required to access CUFS is being updated from 1.6_24 (Min requirement Sep 11) to 1.7_21 this April. Finance Division are distributing this message to CUFS end users, who in turn may well be contacting you as local IT support officers.
